Term Reforestation
Definition

The renewal process of a forest, be it natural or artificial. In most cases, it refers to the planting of trees in the areas from where they were previously felled. This activity contributes to social and economic development, thus meeting future wood needs and other environmental services. Forest plantations were established in the country for the purpose of conservation and/or producing wood for firewood, charcoal, poles, props, furniture, resins, gums and tannins.
