Term Vegetation

A type of land cover in a given location defined by the presence of plant species that grow there. It is characterized by its floristic composition, physiognomy and spatial structure, which may change over time.

The set of all plant species is the flora of the region, and it is assessed by calculating the number of species and the names of each of them. The analysis of vegetation includes the study of the distribution of species and the determination of their relative importance, by calculating the number of individuals and their size.
