Term Norm
Definition

A standardized rule that implies adjusting to an order, or to a specified and permissible behavior. In the field of law it refers to a rule of law, and in sociology, to a social standard. There are also quality norms or regulations and environmental regulations.

One type of judicial norm, which is general in nature; and is a rule of law dictated by the executive branch of the government, is a regulation. It develops the law and it is, in turn, subject to it. Regulations govern any activity, collective group, association or company.
