Term Sustainable forest management

The process of controlled and informed use of forest resources in a manner that guarantees the satisfaction of the needs of the population that in some way depends on them, but which does not affect the regenerative capacity of ecosystems. In contrast with the simple use of wood without regard for the regenerative capacity of the forest and its vital support network, sustainable management implies information, planning, care, time, skill, control and systematic monitoring.
