Term United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC, New York, 1992)
Definition

This convention seeks to stabilize the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. This can be achieved by avoiding dangerous human interference in the climatic system for a period sufficiently long as to allow ecosystems to naturally adapt to climate change, ensuring that food production is not threatened and enabling economic development to continue in a sustainable manner.
