Term DNA

Often abbreviated as DNA, deoxyribonucleic acid is a molecule that contains the genetic information of all living cells. It is the primary chemical component of chromosomes and the material from which genes are formed. In 1953, researchers James Watson and Francis Crick unraveled the molecular structure of DNA and laid the foundation for major scientific advances and the development of genetic engineering.
