Term Anthropic activity

Any action or intervention that human beings perform on the Earth. Some examples are: agriculture, deforestation, fishing, and the emission of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere.

The main environmental problems in the Dominican Republic are the result of the intense anthropic urban activity and the rapid economic growth sustained by the country. The infrastructure has been unable to support the levels of migration from the country to the city and, as a result, water resource management and collection and processing of solid waste are among the country´s most pressing environmental concerns.
