Term Geographic distribution

Refers to the way in which geographic elements are located on the earth's surface. In ecology, many times it relates to the location of species and their populations, communities or ecosystems within the space of their habitat (whether it is a terrestrial, freshwater or sea environment). The distribution of these living elements within the environment can be isolated or concentrated (in groups or clusters).  Many times, scientists analyze the geographical distribution of species or ecosystems within the context of a landscape, evaluating the connectivity between them
