Term Annual allowable cut
Definition

The production that can be exploited annually in a specific area of a forest or forest plantation and that is subject to forest management during its planning period. It is the volume that can be drawn while respecting the sustainable yield. Its calculation depends on forest growth, natural mortality, the age of rotation and the damage caused by management interventions, including harvested trees.
