Term Vegetation cover

All of the natural vegetation present in an area or territory, which includes: forest, scrubland, savanna, freshwater vegetation, land with sparse vegetation and agricultural areas in use.

Lands dedicated to farming activities are predominant in the Dominican territory and occupy 38.41%, followed by forests, which represent 32.89%, and then by bushes, which occupy 16.22%. The other categories, with the exception of grasses, which occupy 7.94%, are around or below 1%.
