Term Cenote
Definition

Spring or freshwater deposits found in deep caverns, often of karstic origin, resulting from the collapse of one or more caves.

In the Dominican Republic, the best known cenote is the Zaramagullones, located inside the Tres Ojos Cavern Wildlife Refuge.
